Senator Debbie Stabenow is one of my favorite senators. I do not know a thing about her personal life or where she stands on certain issues. I just like the fact that she is a tall fiery redhead with big knockers. See. You like her too, now don’t you?
Last week Senator Stabenow had a publicized “exchange” with another senator, Kyl. Senator Kyl lamented about having to include maternity coverage in the health insurance bill. Senator Kyl said that he didn’t need maternity coverage and shouldn’t have to pay for it. It wasn’t fair.
Here’s the thing.
I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of the National Capital Area or CareFirst. I have had this coverage for 10 years. I have never been pregnant. If I should become pregnant, CareFirst would consider it a pre-existing condition. Oh, I could purchase maternity coverage BUT there is a 10-month waiting period.
Does that sound like bs to anyone else? According to the Bush Administration, I am “pre-pregnant” and should therefore in addition to keeping my excellent physique take plenty of folic acid. Why? Because I could become pregnant at any time. Yet. When I do, CareFirst is not going to pay for any of it because it is a pre-existing condition. So unless the human gestation period changed from 9 months until sometime within their 10-month window, my condition and baby’s first 9 months will not be covered.
So, what does a responsible woman do? She pays $126 a month (extra) for maternity coverage. And that Senator Kyl is not fair. To date, I have paid a little more than $15K on a “condition” that is quite inevitable in just about every woman’s life.
Pregnancy is not a preexisting condition, and should, therefore, be stricken from the language of every health insurance company.
Yeah, this does not have anything to do with phone sex, but don’t you like the women who get you off to be smart and in addition to sexy?
